THE BIG JUBILEE plans in Kilmersdon

On Wednesday 2nd February Kilmersdon Parish Council organised a meeting at the Village Hall to start organising some plans for the Queens Platinum Jubilee Weekend in June. The meeting was a great success with some brilliant ideas floating around. At the moment it has been agreed that the following events will be organised by Members of the Parish Council and individual parishioners.

Friday 4th June – Organised Ramble with our Neighbours in Holcombe and Coleford

Friday 4th June – Ceilidh to be held at the Village Hall in the evening followed by a possible Beacon lighting

Sunday 6th June – Picnic on the Park – Open Picnic to everyone on the Village Playing Field. Looking to have a School Barbecue and Teas, Coffee and Sandwiches from the village hall.

On top of this other things being looked at are:

The Art group to decorate the Village Hall in Royal Themed Artwork

Possible Red White and Blue Hanging Baskets in the Village

A raffle to be held by the pub to help fund some of the events.

Finally we are looking to promote a good community spirit by sharing and promoting the Events held between Holcombe, Coleford and Kilmersdon.
